Around The Bay

Wow! What a week/weekend.

I was feeling a little lathargic at work this week, just kind of lazy type of thing so there isn't much to discuss there. But I did have a fabulous week. Z finished finals on Tuesday we had a couple of his friends over for dinner. Tuesday was the Potato Crusted Pork Chops and I must say it was delicious. (I Will share the recipe later)

I stuck to my menu pretty well except for the Chicken Cordon Bleu got pushed off until last night and the Pork Tacos never happened- so they will be moved to this week.

This weekend I had the pleasure of hanging out with some old friends. Megan had her bachlorette weekend in Miami and they were kind enough to invite me out with them Saturday. We went boating around the bay and it was a great time. Z and I also had a lot of quality time which was much needed, since we had both been busy.

I am still working on my menu for this week I know tonight if I don't eat with CC and Whit I will make pasta but that is as far as I have gotten. I will keep you updated.

Well the past few weeks have been crazy! I am really getting into my new role and I must say I feel as if it suites me. Now I am still  "rookie" in every sense of the word, but to be honest I am learning from a great master. Emily Dickens Moves to Miami

Well this is my first post and I have a lot to say! My name is Emily Dickens and I have a lot going on in my life. I just got married to the love of my life Zach Dickens on 8.7.09. We got married at the Atlanta History Center in Georgia. My wedding was everything I could hope for and more. I was surrounded by my closest friends and family. It truly was the best day of my life. After the wedding my husband and I went on a fabulous honeymoon in Key West. We spent a long weekend in Key West during their famous lobsterfest. The streets were full of people and tents with fresh lobster and the town was alive. It was a lot of fun. When the honeymoon was over we drove to our new home in Miami, FL. My husband will be attending the University of Miami Law School this year and that is what brought us down here. We live in a community called Brickell and it really is amazing. Well friends this month of February has so far been a great one for me and Zach. I will catch you up on the highlights. 1. Zach did really well last semester and received The Dean's Certificate. 2. Z also got an internship with a Federal Judge! So he is working with him 2 days a week. Zach on his First Day of Work 3. I got a Promotion!! I am very excited about this. I am now the Social Catering Manager for The Mandarin Oriental Miami. So I will now be booking weddings, showers, birthday parties and much more! Check out my Director's blog - she is an incredible Social Catering Director and it will be a pleasure to learn and work with her. 4. Zach and I had our Second "official" date night.
