Happy 2010 Everyone!
Well the new year is upon us and I love it! I love new beginnings and fresh starts, resolutions and grand plans. Now to be honest 2009 was a wonderful year that I am not sure can be surpassed. My parents turned 50, my sister graduated from high school, Zach and I graduated college, and Zach and I got married! Not to mention all the great fun I had all year with my last semester and my wonderful friends and family. I am glad that 2009 will be a year to remember.
But I am also ready for the new year and new possibilities, within my self personally, my marriage, and my career! I am so ready :)
I will back up a little bit and say that Z and I had an amazing Christmas and I would have updated sooner except for there was literally no time until now. We have been very busy seeing family and friends and driving (thats right 12 hours each way then 8 more to Tampa and back). This season we truly realized how blessed we are to have so many people who care about us and we got some awesome gifts and had some great laughs with friends and family.
In my last post I mentioned about Tampa, which was my Christmas gift to Zach. We
had a blast
bringing in the New Year! It was a VERY special New Year's Eve and I won't forget it. Then we had a blast at the Outback Bowl which was by far the craziest game I have ever been to! I mean I hope you saw it because I can't even describe it here. Not to mention it was freezing and raining (oh well- makes for a better story)
So we are home safe and sound and I spent today getting everything in order. Like grocery shopping and cleaning and such. Each year starting on January 1 for the past 5 years my Mom and I have done the Daniel Fast. It is basically a 'fast' for 3 weeks where you eat only fruits, veggies and whole grain. I always love it because it starts your year off in a positive way and it cleanses your system. I am going to share my Menus as often as I can remember because over the years My mom and I have brought some others into the fast with us ;) So this is for them too!
My Menu for this week
Sunday- Chickpea Mexican Soup
Monday- Italian Potato Wedges
Tuesday- Enchiladas
Wednesday- Black Bean Soup
Thursday- Veggie Burger with Mashed Potatoes
(Let me know if you are interested in any of the recipes I will send them right over)
I am excited about this upcoming year I am sure it holds many exciting things for all of us- things that we don't even know yet! Be thankful what you have and pray for what you want! Can't go wrong with that combination :)
A few Resolutions for me
1. Unpack right when I get home from a trip (this is something that is so simple but very hard for me)
2. Learn how to sew (I got a sewing machine for christmas)
3. Read more books ( I will try to let you in on what I am reading)
4.Be a great and loving wife (learn what that means)
5. Work out and stay in shape! (over done but still important)
6. Stick with my projects and ideas- carry them through!
7. Spend more time praying and learning about God! :)
8. Lastly be thankful for the wonderful life I have and try to give to those who aren't as fortunate!
On the book note: I just finished Jodi Picoult- Keeping Faith I strongly recommend it to anyone! It was really great
Loves- Happy New Year!
