Leap Year
Hello Blog Readers-- Remember me!
I am trying to get back into this so bare with me :)
Happy Leap Day, this extra day concept boggles the mind when you really think about it, In reality isn't today all the March 1st's Birthdays... aren't all of our birthdays now a day earlier. I may celebrate mine on May 6th this year.
A little catch up:
Zach is working his little booty off to graduate in May, I am so proud of his hard work, I know that with the Bar coming up in July there is much more studying still to come. I am also still working a lot in my event planning world, it is our very busy time of the season. We have some incredible events coming up so stay tuned and I will share some photos.
Zach and I are working to live in a budget, this is not something that either of us have had much success with, but after a visit from some friends, we finally decided to really try it out and stick with it. So tomorrow starts the first full month, but we did it for half of February. We are using Mint.com a lot, which is super helpful. Along with the card system, which is kind of like the envelope system. But instead of cash for each category we use a different debit card. We already had a lot of accounts, so it was easy to designate which card was for what.
The Accounts are as follows:
Restaurants/Groceries
Long Term Savings
Short Term Savings
Emily's Spending
Zach's Spending
Bills/Gas/Rent
So far we have been doing pretty good with it, but any advice is always helpful!
We just did an inventory of our freezer, which may sound crazy, but we have some much good stuff in there that goes wasted. Z's grandmother sends us Omaha Steak products, so I thought in honor of the new budget I could plan a few meals that would save us mula since we already have such good products- if anyone has any recipe ideas let me know! (especially with those Potatoes Au Gratin-- 29!!)
I will share a few pics below to get you up to speed. I have a crazy wedding this weekend, I am sure I will have a good blog story or two to share after Saturday.
Loves.
