New Year
Wow-its been a long time since I last updated.. But as a New Year dawns, I hope to make blogging one of my hobbies again.
Lots has transpired since we last spoke- Zach is back in Miami with me and that alone makes me a very happy girl. He begins his last semester of Law School on Tuesday. Some very exciting things to come. So stay tuned :)
For me I have accepted a new position at Barton G's. Barton is a well known entraupenur in Miami, he owns 3 restaurant, a successful event planning company, and the former Versace Mansion- Now called The Villa by Barton G. The transition has been interesting, as this type of work is much different from my hotel life. However, I do love it so far. I am planning some amazing events all over Miami and eventually I will hopefully be doing events Nationally as well.
With all that said, in order to achieve success in all these events I am having to work a lot. Which is ok with me for now- I always think that now is a good time to work a lot, as we don't have kids or a lot going on. And luckily I have a very understanding husband who is constantly supporting me.
Zach and I started out our year in Atlanta for New Years Eve with some great friends and family- we then drove 12 hours back to Miami. As some of you remember I do the Daniel fast every year starting Jan 1, this year thus far I have been doing very well with it. If you want to read more about what the Daniel Fast is you can look at my previous blog post here, or this informative website.
Then for Zach's 25th birthday we took a short trip to NYC, Z had never been to the city before and the Falcons were playing in the Wildcard Playoffs vs the Giants. It was an amazing weekend! We went all over the city to the Statue of Liberty, to the Empire State Building (all the way up to the 102nd floor) and then to Memphis on Broadway in the evening. It was a wonderful trip and it made me realize how much we love to travel. I love the weekend getaways to new or familiar places. It can be tiring, but it breaks up the monantany of a long week and one of my favorite quote sums it up "Twenty years from now you will be more disapointed in the things you didn't do,then in the things you did do" - Mark Twain. So whenever an opportunity arrises and I think that I am too tired or that its not worth it I always think of this quote to help but things in perspective.
Well I think that's a good start... I hope everyone's year has started out the way you wished and I know there are many more blessings to come!
Loves.
