The Fast
For those who know me, you know that I do The Daniel Fast every January.
It all started while I was in high school, my uncle was going through some rough times and my mom had heard about The Daniel Fast- where you start your new year fasting and pray for something, the lack of food gives you the time to pray and to reflect on your life. Every year I really do realize just how much I think about food, and how much I take it for granted- and to think of all the millions who don't even have a meal every night. 2 Days in and I can already tell a difference, my thinking is more clear and I feel more appreciative of my life!
You can see the specifications of the fast HERE. During the month I eat a lot of Fruits and Veggies, I always end the month feeling great mentally and physically. So I welcome the Fast each year. Personally I find it to be a great way to start each year.
My personal Menu for the week is below (I add Chicken or Steak to one portion to make it more Zach Friendly)
Tonight: Vegetable Soup
Monday: Salad with a side of broccoli
Tuesday: Tofu Stirfry
Wednesday: Potatoes and Veggies in the Crock Pot
Thursday: Pasta (Spinach Pasta with tomato sauce)
Friday: Brown Rice and Beans
Saturday: Butternut Squash
Sunday is Zach's Birthday! I have a special meal planned for that one!
Happy New Year- I hope you are planning something amazing for this new year!
Loves.
