Thanksgiving Festivities

It has been a while, but as promised I have come back with a post about our wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday.

As previously mentioned my family did come down for a few days last week. My parents stayed at the Mandarin and my sister stayed with Z and I. It was a great time and we stayed very busy while they were here. First I had 5 DAYS off of work!! That in itself is absolutely amazing. But I did not take those days for granite.

So here's the run down. The family drove down (anyone who knows my family knows this is very typical!) They arrived Saturday at 1PM, with the new car in tow!! That in itself was thrilling, and I must say I love our new car, it has a lot of cool features (i.e Sirius Radio, I Pod connecter, cooler in the glove box for drinks and a boom box in the trunk for tailgating)

During the day on Saturday while the my parents settled into the hotel, Olivia and I made cookies, made the Brine for the Turkey and other fun things! Then we went to dinner at LuLu's in the Grove. I thought it was delicious, its a new restaurant and I had a groupon for it. It is known for the Tapas which my family isn't big on, but Olivia, Mom and I had a fabulous dinner. After dinner we went to Harry Potter 7, which was AMAZING. I thought it was so much in line with the book, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. It didn't even phase me that it was 2.5 hours.

Sunday, was "Thanksgiving" with the help of my Mother and Sister (and Martha Stewart ) I made my first Thanksgiving Dinner, Turkey and all. Mom and I literally cooked all day, but the dinner turned out very good and I felt very domestic and wifely. Along with a huge sense of pride that I prepared everything that I did.

After dinner, Z and I took about 100 pictures trying to get one for our Christmas Card. We did get a great shot that will be the Christmas Card pic for The Dickens Family this year. (I would show you one of the rejects but I want you to be surprised!)

Monday, Z had class ALL day 9AM-10:30PM (it was a very long day for him) My fam and I went to Saw Grass Mills Mall. It is a HUGE outlet mall north of Miami. We were there for 9 hours! Lots of Christmas shopping was accomplished and it was a fun day all around.

Tuesday was when the family left, in the morning we did take The Dorman Christmas photo, also very cute! Then we did a little more shopping, I got new plates for my Christmas table. Then my family left for the long drive home. All in all it was a fabulous trip and I was so thankful for them coming down to see us.

On the real Thanksgiving Day, Z studied all day and I decorated the apartment for Christmas. It was such a relaxing day, don't get my wrong I love being with people and family, but compared to last year when we had 3 Thanksgiving dinner in one day. It was a slower pace and very nice!

Yesterday since Z was studying all day I decided to get out of his hair so I went shopping and to the movies. I saw 3 movies in the Theaters; Love and Other Drugs, Morning Glory and Burlesque.

All three were incredibly different and moving in different ways. I must say I LOVED Burlesque, Christina and Cher were soo good! I would recommend seeing this movie to anyone who loves great costumes and wonderful music!

In my reading news: I finished Little Women, if you haven't read this classic I think you should. It was a great novel with more love and faith then you would think!

Thats all for now, hope you enjoy the pics.
