One Happy Family
So I know I have been a little bit off this past week. But I want to make it up to you by telling you everything thats has gone on since last Monday. No worries I will hit the highlights.
A few things that happened last week:
So last week Zach and I temporarily fell off the eating in wagon (don't worry we are back on it).
I had a good week at work and I am now no longer in training, and on my own. So this is good news they are impressed with how quickly I learn things
We went to a Marlins Braves game here in Miami, and made a lot of people mad. Zach almost got in a fight with a 50 year old man and I even admit it wasn't his fault.
I stayed up late finishing Lauren and Elliott's slideshow.
We caught a flight that left 20 minutes late but arrived to ATL early.
That pretty much brings us to this weekend.
Friday when we arrived in Atlanta I went straight to Carrie's apartment for Lauren's bachlorette party. We ended up going to Moon Dogs and the second everyone found out that we were at a bachlorette party Lauren was swamped with boys wanting to play. We had a lot of adventures including our Jamacian cab driver who I could not understand one word of what he was saying. The cab company loved me and I even developed a relationship with the lady who answered the phones, she would call me baby! Ha loved it
We got home around 3 AM and I went straight to bed, I didn't move the entire night.
My mom came and picked me up Saturday morning at 10:30 to take me shopping (I love her for it!) We went to Howell Mill Rd in ATL to this sketchy part of town filled with warehouses everywhere. I was feeling unsure that this "great" place Barb had told us about was going to come to fruition. Well I was wrong, we found the K&G outlet and man it was a jackpot. It was a warehouse full of suits and all the clearance was an extra 50% off. I literally tried on about 20 pieces of clothing (while O lied on the floor in the dressing room). My mom bought me so much stuff and it was all on sale! I am set for such a long time.
Then my mom dropped me off at the nail salon, to meet up with the bridal party. Up to this point remember I still haven't been home I am like a vagabond, carrying all my belongings with me everywhere. I got a mani/pedi which made me SO happy, I needed it. Then we went to Elliott's house to get ready for Rehearsal.
Rehearsal was pretty good, we had to go through it a few times, but I can't judge because I did the same at mine and it was hotter then so I was a good sport :) We had fun and got to see how beautiful the backyard looked. We went from Elliott's to the Dogwood Terrace for the rehearsal dinner. The dinner was fabulous and the place was decorated great! We had some stressed out boys because we couldn't get football on the the TV but thank goodness for phones, we were kept updated throughout.
Speeches were interesting, I mean what can you expect when you put all your family in one room and ask them to talk about you. It was a wide array of nice and "funny" things. All in all in was very evident that everyone there was very happy about La and El getting married. Zach and I went home to my house and I was exhausted, we talked to my mom and Olivia for a little bit then headed to bed (which yes was a little strange to be sleeping in my house together).
The next morning we woke up at 9:15 and Zach was heading off to the lake with his family. I was jealous I can't wait to get to go with them next time! It looked really fun from the pictures and I even saw a dog who could ring a bell by himself (thanks Christopher!).
I got ready and left for the bridal luncheon which started at 11:00 I thought 30 minutes would be plenty of time to get there, I was wrong and was 20 minutes late, I felt really bad because they apparently had to stall in order to wait for me for the picture. The luncheon was nice and afterwards I stayed at La's grandparent's house all day. I took a short nap and then got ready for the wedding.
Lauren got into her dress at Elliott's (which is where the wedding was) She looked beautiful, her hair was perfect with her dress. We took pictures and I kept the photographer on task by bossing everyone around. Once pictures were over we anxiously awaited the aisle time.
Some may say the ceremony was interesting, but I just think it had character and I realized that all that matters this whole weekend is that Lauren and Elliott got married and they looked very happy to be together. I had fun and I didn't get much sleep but we go to see a lot of our friends which was important to me and Zach. A highlight of the night was Zach Olsen's best man speech! It was amazing and I was so impressed. We stayed until the bride and groom ran out to the Auburn fight song!
It was hard to leave the wedding, I didn't want to leave my friends and some of my friends REALLY didn't want me to leave. It made me sad and happy to know that I was so missed and loved. I of course get sad, I love my family, my new brothers and my friends and it is so hard to leave especially when you didn't get to spend as much time with these people as you would like. Sunday night Zach and I spent the night at his house, and woke up around 9. We spent some time with Christopher and William, then we all ate chick-fil-a biscuits that Chip brought us home. Zach, Juneau and I had a long drive ahead so we headed out and stopped by to see Gaga and Obie.
We drove all day and we stopped to eat at Zaxby's (yum!) and Juneau did SOO well I mean he slept the entire way. I was so impressed. We made it home by 11:30 PM and we were exhausted but we caught the end of the Miami game (GO CANES!!). Our apartment was a huge disaster from all the things we brought from home, but we decided to go to bed.
Today work was crazy I literally didn't stop all day, which is good. I have 2 groups in the hotel and it is my first real trial run and I love it. I even worked late, working on paperwork. I just love when the day is busy and then it slows down and you can sit back and say my day was productive. As soon as I got off work I called Zach and asked if he wanted to meet me to go to the grocery store, he said sure and as soon as I hung up I saw him walking up to me. He had walked to the MO to meet me after work, it was the best surprise ever. Me Zach and Juneau all walked home from work and talked about our day, it was the perfect end of the work day. We did end up going to the grocery store. More on that in a minute.
Ok Last thing here are the things I have learned today...
1. I am SO blessed- I have a great husband (who I have been married to for one month and one day) not only that but we have SO many people who care about our well being and we are doing well because of those key people in our lives
2. Don't ever trust the bellman to tell you if they have packages for your guest- just go down and check for yourself!
3. Don't buy more than you can carry at the grocery store- this one is really important if you walked to the grocery store. (even if it is 5 12-packs for the price of 1!)
I need to go to bed I have to be at work at 6 AM. So bed time for me :)
Thanks for reading I hope you all feel caught up on the newlyweds life in Miami.
p.s. Our apartment is still a mess that is my task tomorrow :) AND I want to meet ASHER soon.
