The Quality of Being Authentic

Well I have done it again.... I found a new hobby. I am the kind of person who loves to try new hobbies, especially things that are crafty! So this past weekend I co hosted a baby shower for some beautiful friends. I agreed to make all the food (I always over commit) then at the last minute our cake fell through, so I thought why not? I will give this cake thing a shot. My mom and sister really got into cake making last year, they took classes and everything. My mom has really been a superstar with her cakes. At every family party she has outdone her past cakes!  I have some of her masterpieces below. For those who know me you know that May is my most favorite month! It May have something to do with my birthday.... :) I have been a little absent, mostly because I have become (shamelessly) addicted to Army Wives. Its sad but true. To catch up, last weekend I ventured home to throw my darling cousin a Bridal Shower It was a lot of work. My mom was feeling under the weather and we made a ton of food for the shower. My mother is Martha Steward and everything had to be themed with Katie's Wedding colors which are green and black, right down to the "green tea cupcakes" The shower ended up being a great success and we so look forward to the wedding in June.
