The Quality of Being Authentic

It has been a while, but as promised I have come back with a post about our wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday. As previously mentioned my family did come down for a few days last week. My parents stayed at the Mandarin and my sister stayed with Z and I. It was a great time and we stayed very busy while they were here. First I had 5 DAYS off of work!! That in itself is absolutely amazing. But I did not take those days for granite. So here's the run down. The family drove down (anyone who knows my family knows this is very typical!) They arrived Saturday at 1PM, with the new car in tow!! That in itself was thrilling, and I must say I love our new car, it has a lot of cool features (i.e Sirius Radio, I Pod connecter, cooler in the glove box for drinks and a boom box in the trunk for tailgating) During the day on Saturday while the my parents settled into the hotel, Olivia and I made cookies, made the Brine for the Turkey and other fun things! Rest, that has been my mantra for today... I am in a long run with only a 1 day off in the past 10 days. I am looking forward to Thanksgiving when my family is coming down. I will be making my first Thanksgiving dinner and I almost have the menu all planned. The rough idea is below Turkey Green Beans Mashed Potatoes Sweet Potato Souffle Corn on the Cob Dessert Pumpkin Pie and Sugar Cookies The recipes are all a work in progress, but I am excited to spend the time with my family and to be together for Thanksgiving. In other news; a few things since I have last updated. (I have visuals for each)  Zach saw a family of Manatees in the bay and got really cool footage of them! We got blinds for the apartment- hence my sleep has been amazing no extra light. Living Room with new Blinds I am blessed with a great family who always help Zach and I when we are in need, at this point we were in desperate need of a new car. So see our new Car!!! So here we are November 1. I always have mixed emotions about another year coming to an end, but I always love the Holidays- the decorating, the family, the food... These are the things I look forward to. On another note- let's look back at the past few weeks. Mostly filled with work, sprinkled with a few fun date nights and of course most recently Halloween. This year I did miss my girls, as I always love to celebrate Halloween with them. Zach and I did have a good time going to dinner with my work friends. I was a Tree and he was a Tree Hugger. It was a good weekend. And to top it off I had today off. I filled it with sleeping and watching TV. Basically the perfect day. I will try to update more this Month...
